In a few hours, the results of the 12th term presidential elections of Taiwan would be out.

Being half Taiwanese I've always been keeping up with the politics of Taiwan, which is always filled with controversies and sometime borders on the incredulous. But this time it is serious business, as a nation awaits for a new leader that can guide them out of the downward spiral that started eight years ago with the appointment of Mr. Chen Shui-bian.

After the aggressive swashbuckling style of Ah-bian during his reign of corruption, Taiwan needs a mediating moderator like Mr. Ma Ying-jeou to restore its economy and improve the lives of its citizens. Mr. Frank Hsieh's (from Mr. Chen Shui-bian's party, DPP) chameleon-like political stance and his flippant character would be detrimental to Taiwan. Go 馬英九!
