a great football site

I recently stumbled upon Zonal Marking, a great football site which features articles and post-match analysis with a focus on the technicalities of the sport as a team game. It couldn't happened at a greater time, when I'm starting to get annoyed by all the lazy journalism that is plaguing Soccernet (barring the Phil Ball articles) at the moment.

As a Tottenham Hotspur fan for 13 years I used to get a lot of stick especially during the times where they had managers like Christian Gross and players like José Dominguez and Steffen Freund. But being a supporter of one which does not have any genuine chance of winning the big trophies it's always interesting to see the local fans (read: Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd) getting into heated discussions on whose team is better, which is like peace talks over the Gaza Strip.

Thus I'm chuffed to bits that this site has allowed me to grow as a football fan as I slowly get to understand the game in a more objective manner instead of getting into those pointless debates. Now with every match I pay closer attention to the formations, substitutions and the tactical changes over the course of 90 minutes. COYS!
