Me and the guys tried running two laps around Bedok Reservoir (around 8.6km) on Saturday afternoon:
Weijian - 46:00
Kuah - 56:20
Thomas - 58:26
Wai Kit - 58:28 (which I had to sprint for the last 200m just to beat him by two seconds.)
I'm pleasantly impressed with Kuah and Wai Kit - some time back you wouldn't think of them as physically fit people but right now they have the stamina and endurance that can beat the average guy.
I'm happy that the four of us have taken up running - it's a welcome healthy activity compared to the drinking and supper sessions that the HDD were used to doing. But apart from wanting to be more physically fit, I guess the decision to join the Army Half Marathon was mostly due to the desire to accomplish some personal challenges in order to make our lives more enriching and fulfilling. So the Army Half is our first major challenge - if nothing crops up we hope to join the Standard Chartered Marathon at the end of this year.
